Turtlewings Atelier is our unique creative thinking lab here in Brussels. It is a place where children, artists, designers and other creative people work together as design partners. All activities are conducted in English, by Turtlewings Play Researchers or artists with amazing talents to share. Brussels is a unique place with the large variety of languages. Many if not all of the children and adults participating at Turtlewings speak more than one language. This is amazing and we love to foster the diversity of languages at Turtlewings. So in that way, there are and will be many other languages floating in the air as well as the use of other forms of communication. The more the merrier!
Atelier programs are based on current research by Turtlewings. We are exploring and designing ways to link design and education and foster creative thinking. The Atelier is our laboratory for exploring these ideas with children, artists, parents, educators, etc.
The environment of the atelier is set up, both the main level and downstairs, so that children can explore in a variety of ways and with a variety of materials. Each child will find their own individual creative style here and creative space. We are also fortunate to be across the street from one of Brussels amazing green spaces, Park Tenbosch. We regularly move our activities to the park, when weather permits.
